Template description

Idea submitted drops into the Value vs. effort diamond. Low ends at Parking lot, and that box has no way back. High goes to Write PRD and then Cross-functional review. Approved continues to Add to plan and stops. Needs work returns to Idea submitted, not to the PRD. A review that asks for more work throws the idea back through the value diamond, so it can be parked the next time if the effort no longer looks worth it. The parking lot and the plan are both endings. Only the needs-work arrow loops, and it loops to the top.

When to use it

Open it when a review comment is being treated as a small edit to the PRD, even though the arrow you are looking at restarts the idea. It also helps a triage meeting see that Low never re-enters the diamond unless you add that arrow.

How to adapt it

Write your real comparison on Value vs. effort, and name who attends Cross-functional review. If needs-work should return to Write PRD instead of the idea, move the arrow. If the parking lot is reviewed monthly, add a return and label the cadence. Add a third branch only for an outcome you already use, such as a spike. Leave Add to plan as a stop if planning is a different meeting.
