Template description
The machine starts at DraftPlan, moves to SubmittedPlan, and then to Reviewing. Reviewing splits. Approved continues to BuildPhase, then FinalInspection, then Completed. FixRequired returns to DraftPlan, not to Reviewing and not to SubmittedPlan. A plan that needs a fix becomes a draft again, so it must be submitted before anyone reviews it a second time. BuildPhase is reachable only from Approved. There is no arrow from Reviewing into construction, and the final inspection has no failure path in this drawing. Completed is a single end after a passed inspection.
When to use it
Use it when a site team wants to build from a plan that is still in review, or when a fix is being treated as a comment that stays inside Reviewing. The return to DraftPlan is the arrow that says the paperwork starts over. The inspection arrow says this picture has no drawn rejection at the end.
How to adapt it
Rename the states to the permit language you use. If a fix should return only to SubmittedPlan, move that arrow. Add a failed-inspection state if the final visit can reject the work, and point it where the rework actually starts. Insert an authority name on Reviewing if more than one office must agree. Do not connect DraftPlan directly to BuildPhase.
